SUMMER'S FADE

SUMMER'S FADE
by Fox the Poetess  c. 2012

Summer's fade
Whether sowing seeds
Or reaping grain
It's still the same old story.
But Old Lugh beams his ancient man grin on the bark
For he knows that no matter the season
There is still a bloom of fancy on the vine
Waiting to be picked.

Our Waterside Supper with Riparian Entertainments

“But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.

Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."

How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.

You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here.”

What fun!

Yesterday was the Day of Days!

Violet Moorfields Lace & Wooden Bowl Picnic!
(fondly dubbed: Vic Pic by my Weird Sister and friend, Georgia!)

Vic Pic is a lovely day where one gathers with magical friends
and all the tattered lace.....silver servings....wooden bowls.....and finest garb come out!

Not that we have to look far.  Most of us live this way so it's merely a
matter of surveying the house and packing the hamper.  The hardest part is deciding what *not* to bring!
Trust me, if we had our way we'd move entire truck loads of treasures for setting up!

And garb, of course!
Weeks spent giggling over corsets, dresses and (especially!) hats!

And so we go, off to the waterside, in this case the Erie Canal in Camillus, NY.

There's something to be said for relaxing on a glorious day with friends and Kindred Spirits.
Very Charles Dodgson-esque, don't you think?
The Vics knew how to Pic, that's for sure!

A lovely plus was that I had yet another chance to partake of many fripperies with
my wonderful friend and goat sister, Bev!
Twice in the same number of months!  HUZZAH! for me!

All that was missing were the goats........

Kindred friends and tattered lace.......life's too short not to revel in both!

Please do.  You'll be so glad you did!
