GOATURE for the Fashion Conscious

Shabby Caprine Hat with horn bow by Fox
(crochet)
~from Hatty's Tattered Finery

*Fox's Shabby items are simply items put together on a wing and a prayer from
scraps and a vision.  No two are ever alike.

~Tattered Finery~
Hatty Bunratty (Henrietta Bunrat)
is Fox's Victorian alter ego who
dresses up her goat, Darla, and sells, with her good cousin Eulalie Auralia,
tattered goods and lovely junque at the Gooseberry Fair.
Hatty and Eulalie profess to have fallen into 'genteel poverty' and
must sell off the family goods.
Each tattered item comes with a fantastical, if far fetched story.

*A lovely side note:  Darla will be appearing in the play
THREE GOATS GRUFF
at the outdoor bridge on the town hall lawn.
She will be playing the role of The Third Goat.
She is very, very excited but a little nervous about learning her lines.

How fun! I sure wish I lived closer! :(
Tell Darla I'm sure she will do fine with her lines and play a splendid Third Goat!
I saw a sock monkey hat at ACE Hardware the other day but your Caprine Hat is SOOO much cuter! Is it for sale?

Thanks! :)

Actually, things I make are usually gifted. I never feel adequate enough to sell my shabby stuff......it's......shabby! lol

Well, it is absolutely darling! You did a wonderful job! :)

I am so jealous of Darla! If you make her a muff, well, that's just it! I have to say, that is a pretty awesome hat, though. By the way, if you have ever looked at my profile, Three Billy Goats Gruff is my very favorite story ever. I wonder who is playing the troll?????

Certainly I'm jealous of Darla as well. I think I'd be a perfect First Goat. If only we were closer. I think Fionn would be perfect for the play as well.

Thanks, guys. :)

Millie- I think you;d make a WONDERFUL First Goat. You could dance across the bridge plaing your horns! And, of course, Darla *would* love to ahem, cross the bridge, with handsome Fionn!

The reason Darla is the Third Goat is that the other two will be marionettes!

Verdict is still out regarding the role of the Troll......... :)

Actually, I'm still in the process of writing the play. It was an idea we had when the bridge was recently put in.

Of course, OUR Troll will be much nicer.....and no body will get hurt. lol

We're rather telling the story *behind* the story! :)

Marigold- Hmm. A goatie muff........I'm picturing it! NEXT Yule, methinks!

I'm sorry. It is a nice idea, what with getting paid in Peanuts for goats to cross the bridge. But I am far too beautiful to be a troll and no one would believe it. I'm afraid it would simply destroy the play's credibility. No, I shall have to be the kindly worker in the toll booth (hired by the not-so-nasty troll who looks a lot like Donald Trump, but who, unlike Donald, shares his 'take' with his lovely employee)

You have a point, Marigold and you *are* most lovely. You may play The Second Goat.

Perhaps we can call the play:
LOTS of GOAT GRUFFS

;)
